Racial Profiling on the Campaign Trail
Bush/Cheney 04 insisted on knowing the race of an Arizona Daily Star journalist assigned to photograph Vice President Dick Cheney yesterday. The Star refused and were later notified that the photographer would "probably" be allowed to photograph the Vice President.
Danny Diaz, a spokesman for the Bush/Cheney 04 campaign, said the information was needed for security purposes.

Update: "I've asked the attorney general and the deputy attorney general to examine racial profiling. It's wrong in America and we've got to get rid of it."
- President Bush, 7/30/01
