In a post-speech interview Zell Miller went ballistic on Chris Matthews (Keith Olbermann blogs on it) after he was asked to explain a speech from 2001 in which Miller described Kerry in glowing terms. Scroll down from the Olbermann post and you'll see a video clip of the Matthews/Miller interview.
For his part Cheney served up a speech heavy on irony and hypocrisy when he criticized Kerry for voting against selected Defense Appropriations Bills during an era when then Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney fought for even deeper cuts in defense spending. I blogged on this general issue back during the Reagan Funeral after Cheney hypocritically lauded Reagan's defense spending when he had been one of Reagan's chief critics on that very same defense spending.
